Craniosacral Therapy is a calming and nurturing approach to childhood healthcare. It is a very gentle way to engage with a baby’s (often overwhelmed) system following birth. Shock and trauma can accumulate in the tissues, cells, matrix, energy field, heart and mind, which is the body’s natural reaction to injuries and stresses of everyday life. It can therefore prevent efficient functioning and be the underlying cause of health disturbances. Releasing this shock can assist the body to return to healthy function.
Craniosacral therapy can offer relief from the suffering of colic, digestive issues and problems sleeping. It can reset their nervous system enabling a more relaxed state, which facilitates improved comfort throughout the body and therefore, a calmer, happier baby. The baby remains fully dressed and contact can be made at various parts of the body, including their head, neck, chest, back, abdomen, sacrum and feet.
Craniosacral Therapy in childhood has a unique ability to work with the source of symptoms on every level, whether mental, physical or emotional. Due to its holistic approach, a wide range of conditions and situations can be engaged with.
Children find this treatment really relaxing and therapeutic, which is especially helpful for children who are overstimulated, aggitated, find it hard to relax or sleep. Children with Autism or ADHD also respond incredibly well to Craniosacral Therapy.
Pregnancy can put a lot of strain on your body in many ways throughout the nine months gestation. This includes not only carrying the weight of your growing baby, but also in the adaptations your body makes to accomodate and nurture your baby. This will include reduced space for internal organs and spinal adaptations as your bump increases.
Craniosacral treatment can aleviate back-pain, ease any digestive issues and allow much-needed relaxation of the whole body, mind and unborn child. The treatment does not require any clothing to be removed and is perfectly safe in pregnancy, due to it’s gentle and extremely light touch. According to each individuals need, contact can include the head, neck, upper chest, abdomen, various levels of the spine, sacrum, arms, legs and feet.
Craniosacral Therapy is a natural way of helping our bodies to rest, recover, connect and energise themselves.
Adults of any age find Craniosacral Therapy hugely helpful in dealing with issues such as stress, anxiety, emotional and physical injury, PTSD, shock, trauma, grief and loss. Tension patterns can be held deep within the tissues and fascia. This can release tissue memory bringing up emotion, deep-rooted memories and profound healing at all levels.
